"Life's greatest questions have always been:
Who am I?
Where did I come from?
Why am I here?
Where am I going?"

It's from Take It Away, by The Used. Not a very good song, but I love the introduction. As you can see, "Why?" is one of the so-called greatest questions. I hope to somehow answer that question. Later. (Beh.)

Here's an story that I find interesting. There was this contest- Little Miss U, I think- and it had a question and answer portion. The contestant was a either a preschooler or a gradeschooler. The question was, "Why is seawater salty?" The little girl then answered, "Because the Lord God made it so." I was in grade school when this happened. I heard the story from my teacher, and she was obviously proud of the child. I'm from a Catholic school, after all.

Here's another story, somewhat similar. If you like Dragonball GT, you should take note of this. (This is what they said in Filipino; I'm not sure about other versions.) It's a flashback from just before Goku reaches the SSJ4. (When he's a golden gorilla and then Pan starts crying, remember now?) Goku remebers a time when he went to the beach with Pan and Pan got swept by a wave. Pan cried, "It's salty!" and Goku said to her, "Seawater is salty. Maybe it's because many people urinate there."

Try to compare the two answers for yourself becuase we might think differently. I think both are very good answers. "Because the Lord God made it so." Isn't it true? If you believe in God, it is, it must be, and it's the most honest, shortest, truest, smartest and at the same time, surest answer you can give. (What a tongue twister.) Which is why my teacher was very proud of the contestant, because the answer she gave was simply the best. Not everyone can give that answer. But not everyone can give Goku's answer, either. A sense of humor. Everybody likes that, and you'd wonder why it's so rare, why people are either too serious or too corny. But I promise you, I'll be as honest and as humorous as I can, like my examples.

Why? What a question. I remember the last time I asked such a question. It was when my teacher gave this assignment- to answer the question "Why?" in an essay. So I said, "Why why?" "Because why," said my teacher. Oh well. You know what I did? Well I thought about it, and all of a sudden all the thoughts just went through my head, back and forth, left to right. And I couldn't put anything on paper except my name and my student number. I just couldn't write.

I think like a little kid. That's the kind of person I am. I loved the teacher, I loved the subject, but I couldn't write anything intelligent. I swear, if I were asked the seawater question, I'd probably give the same answer as the little girl I told you about. I like things simple, concise and honest. I'd never tell you about the sodium chloride mixed in dihydrogen oxide. I find that really phony, trying to sound intelligent and all.

Hey, didn't I sound like the guy in The Cathcher in the Rye just now? You know, I love that book. I'm currently reading it, actually. And the funny thing is, it was our helper gave a nice explanation for the title. The "catcher in the rye" means someone who notices everything, get the logic of it? The narrator takes note of things, comments and asks questions. From that he learns, and we learn also. And that's it. That's my reason why. To be the catcher in the rye.

Doesn't it feel good? You just gave an answer to your own person and your purpose and all that.
(And when you probably feel like it you'd expand your reasons for being catcher in the rye and all haha.) I actually like how you made Why seem like the question of the universe. Lecheng universe yan, nakakalito.

Wow... I don't know what to say. This may sound kinda immature and childish, but it just opened a new outlook of everything for me... call me stupid. Wow.. that's I know its not a drawing, or anyting, its jus the words, the thought.. the answer...
